Hawksbill Sea Turtle

Location: Tropical reefs in the Pacific, Indian, and Atlantic oceans.

Scientific Name: Eretmochelys imbricata

Conservation Status: Critically Endangered

Number left: About 25,000 

Cause of Endangerment: Pollution. So many plastics and other pieces of trash end up in the ocean (Over 14 billion pounds) that they suffocate the turtle.

How to help: The best way to keep the ocean clean is to not throw away recyclable objects. Also, make sure the products you buy are eco-friendly and can be recycled.
